The pH level in your mouth can be increased by your protein intake. Alkalinity promotes the production of volatile sulfide compounds in the mouth which can cause bad breath. It is advised to reduce your protein intake for you to treat bad breath.

Eat lots of foods rich in zinc as they help prevent bad breath. Zinc helps in maintaining the anaerobic bacteria balance inside the mouth to keep it free of foul smell.

Your every meal should consist of nuts, seeds, fruits, grains, and vegetables. Reduce your coffee intake and drink green tea. Also, increase your intake of vitamin C and vitamin E rich foods.

  3. Avoid foods rich in sulfides like ginger, onion, and garlic.
