Treat Mosquito Bites Using Toothpaste, Honey, and Garlic
Your skin can be covered with unsightly, red welts due to mosquito bites. This could be itchy and irritating as it is impossible to shake for days.
Fortunately, there are ways to avoid getting bit in the first place as well as effective home remedies for mosquito bites.
Natural Remedies For Mosquito Bites
Garlic
Mince up fresh garlic and mix with unscented lotion or coconut oil to help reduce the garlic’s potency. Apply the mixture on the bite area and leave for at least 10 minutes. Use a cool washcloth to wipe the area. If itching still persists, apply more of it later.
Ice
Use a thin cloth to wrap the ice and press it against the bite. Do not directly put the ice on the skin as this can cause damage.
Baking Soda
Basil
Make a basil rub by boiling 2 cups of water and adding ½ an ounce of dried basil leaves. Leave the mixture to steep until it is cool. Dip a washcloth into the liquid and rub it gently on the affected area.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Put a drop of vinegar on the mosquito bite. It will reduce burning and stinging sensations and act as a natural disinfectant if you have been scratching too much.
Toothpaste
Honey
Drop a small amount of honey on the affected area to get rid of swelling and ease the itch.
