Ways To Stop Sinus Infection Using Garlic
Sinusitis is an inflammation of sinuses which results in uncomfortable symptoms including pain in the face, sore throat, cough, stuffy or a runny nose, and sneezes.
Have you tried treating your sinus infection with garlic? This is one of the safer home remedies you can use to stop its symptoms naturally.
Garlic contains some components such as allicin and diallyl sulfide that is all good for vasodilatation.
Garlic oil also contains some other substances such as phytonoxide, aliin, and glucogen that have anti-bacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory effects. It supports the treatment of many inflammatory diseases such as sinusitis, dermatitis, pharyngitis, and allergic rhinitis.
Apart from this, garlic also has blood cholesterol-lowering effects, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, chest pain, blood pressure, and prevention of cancer.
The use of garlic to treat sinusitis is relatively safe for long-term treatment and also for many ailments. Here’s how to use it.
Use Fresh (Raw) Garlic
Another way of consuming fresh garlic is by soaking 4 to 6 cloves in water for 8 to 10 minutes. Crush the garlic into a paste and put it close to your nose and inhale deeply. Do this daily until the sinus infection stops.
Garlic With Apple Cider Vinegar
Crush 4-5 cloves of raw garlic. Boil it in 2 cups of water for 2-3 minutes and add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, stir well and inhale the steam. Repeat the steps 3-4 times a day until you feel an improvement.
Garlic And Turmeric
Curcumin has the ability to restore damaged nasal mucosa and increase its resistance to pathogenic agents.
Crush 2-4 cloves of garlic then. Boil it in about 300ml (about 10 ounces) of water for 2-3 minutes and add ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder and stir well. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down. Consume it daily to stop your sinus infection.
Garlic Wine
Garlic wine has been used successfully for treating sinus infections.
Slice about 40 grams of dried, peeled garlic. Place them into a glass bottle to soak with 100 ml of 40-50-degree white wine. Occasionally shake the wine bottle until it changes its color from white to yellow on the 10th day. It is drinkable once the color turns into yellow. Consume 1 teaspoon of wine before meals and before bedtime.
Garlic With Honey
The combination of garlic and honey can help relieve symptoms of acute and chronic sinusitis.
Peel and clean raw garlic. Crush it finely and combine with honey in a ratio of 1:1. Clean your nostrils with 0.9% NaCl solution and dry. Absorb the mixture of garlic and honey using a cotton swab and then put it somewhat deep into your nostrils. Leave it for about 1 hour. Do these twice a day and continue the method for 1 week until you see the healing effect.
