Popular Women’s Hair Dyes Contain Chemicals Linked To Cancer. Use Coffee Instead.

According to recent studies, scientists found out that prolonged use of permanent hair dyes can gradually take a toll on your health. One of its linked health hazards is increased risk of cancer – multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – in particular.

Although natural coloring methods don’t usually give long lasting results, it is still better than having damaged hair and a compromised health. The National Cancer Institute stated that a single conventional hair dye contains over 5,000 different chemicals in it, many of which are considered carcinogenic. On the other hand, coffee is unquestionably a natural product that possesses beneficial properties.

You can use this all-natural coffee mix to provide your hair with the desired shade and shine. In a study published in the International Journal of Dermatology on January 2007, caffeine may even help promote hair growth. Knowing how to use coffee to naturally color your hair will completely change the way you view the hair dying process.

How to Color Hair Naturally with Coffee

  1. Make really strong organic coffee, preferably espresso.  Non-organic coffee most likely contains some added chemicals.
  2. Let your coffee cool down.
  3. Mix 2 cups of leave-in all natural conditioner with 2 tbsp. of organic coffee grounds and 1 cup of cold brewed coffee.
  4. Apply the mixture onto your hair and leave it in for about an hour. It will give your hair a beautiful chocolate color without any damage.

Simple Coffee Rinse

Shampoo your hair first and then pour coffee over your hair. Leave it in for 20 minutes. Use apple cider vinegar to rinse the coffee out of your hair (it will help seal in the color). Then rinse it off with warm water.

In case you don’t see the desired results right away, repeat the same process for a few more days in a row to allow the coffee to deeply penetrate the strands of your hair.
