Natural Remedies For Foot Pain


You may not think much about your feet until they hurt. Of course, when they do, you want relief.
People of all age groups can be affected by foot pain at some point in their lives. This can occur anywhere in the foot including the heel, ankle, sole, toes, or arch.

Foot pain is due to the following reasons:
  1. Wearing uncomfortable shoes
  2. Standing on your feet for a long period of time
  3. Old age
  4. Excessive walking
  5. A mineral deficiency,
  6. Diabetes or other health conditions
  7. Some kind of fracture
  8. Ingrown nail
To take care of foot pain naturally, you can try using readily available ingredients at home. However, if the pain is unbearable and does not improve, see your doctor.


Hot And Cold Water


This is used as a therapy to soothe sore muscles. Through this, swelling and pain can be reduced and also, it stimulates the blood flow throughout the feet. Alternate baths pump stagnant fluid out of the area, thus reducing inflammation.

Simply set on the edge of your tub and for 3 minutes, allow warm water to freely flow over your feet. Then next is to switch the water to a cold temperature, and continue to allow the water to flow. Cycle between the two temperatures six times.


Clove Oil


Clove oil is known to be effective in treating joint pain, headaches, and foot pain.

Massage your feet with clove oil in order to stimulate blood flow and relax your muscles. You can do this several times a day.


Vinegar


Vinegar helps reduce inflammation, thereby a great remedy for foot pains that are due to sprains or strains.

Just fill a tub with hot water and add two tablespoons of vinegar in it. Optionally, you may also mix it with sea salt or Epsom salt. Soak your feet in it for about 20 minutes.


Ice


Another good way of reducing pain and swelling on the feet is by using ice. Have a small amount of ice crushed ice in a small plastic bag and use it to massage the affected area in a circular motion.

Due to the cold temperature, the nerve endings in the painful area become temporarily numb, thus providing you relief and reduces swelling. However, using the pack for more than 10 minutes is not advisable because its longer use can possibly damage your skin and nerves.


Sage


Sage can help you with pains that are caused by sprain, strain, soreness or cut.

Rub a handful of sage leaves between your hands. Put them in a pot with a little less than one cup of apple cider vinegar, bring to boil, and let it simmer for five minutes. Soak a cotton cloth in the warm solution and then hold it on the affected area. Repeat the process several times.


Mustard Seeds


Mustard seeds help improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation and removes toxic water from the body, thereby providing relief from pain and swelling.

Add ground mustard seeds in a half a bucket of warm water and soak your feet in it for 10 to 15 minutes and then pat dry your feet.


Essential Oils


Essential oils can help soothe tired, sore and aching feet. You can try using rosemary oil, eucalyptus oil, and peppermint oil.

In a hot water, mix four drops each of rosemary and eucalyptus oil and two drops of peppermint oil. Soak your feet in it for about 10 minutes.


Cayenne Pepper


Capsaicin, which is found in cayenne pepper, is known to relieve muscle aches and pains, lower back pain, aching feet, and muscle strain.

If your feet ache when they get cold, sprinkle some cayenne pepper in your socks before putting them on. This will help keep your feet warm.


Asparagus


When the foot pain is associated with some kind of inflammation or edema, asparagus can be a good remedy.

Eating steamed asparagus will help you flush excess fluid out of your system, thereby reducing inflammation.


Epsom Salt


Epsom salt breaks down into sulfate and magnesium when it is combined with water. Adding the salt to a warm bath will allow your body to soak in these chemicals, thus working to reduce swelling, pain, and bruises.

In a tub of water, put two to three tablespoons of Epsom salt and soak your feet in the tub for 10 to 15 minutes. Apply some moisturizer after soaking them.
