Super Simple Yet Effective Ways To Beat Acne

Acne is a common skin problem. It is a skin disease involving the oil glands at the base of hair follicles. Though it commonly occurs during puberty, it can occur at any age. Its risk factors are anxiety and stress, genetics, using oil-based makeup, menstrual cycle, hot and humid climates, and squeezing the pimple.

It’s really stressful to deal with acne problems especially if your cleaners, toners, and creams do not work. Luckily, there are some simple steps that can help you manage or reverse the causes of acne. These tips use completely natural ingredients.

Onions and Glutathione

Found in onion are sulfur-containing components that produce the antioxidant glutathione. Studies found out that low levels of glutathione may be linked to the development and presence of acne.

Moreover, onions also have antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory qualities that help protect your skin from acne-causing bacteria and other skin infections.

For the purpose of treating acne and pimples, you can eat raw onions or just mix 1 tablespoon of onion juice/extract with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and apply it to your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

When apple cider is fermented with yeast and other helpful bacteria, apple cider vinegar is made. This fermentation process creates a compound in the vinegar called acetic acid, which is well known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It naturally removes dirt and kills bacteria too.

If you are having acne problems, then there are various ways wherein you can incorporate apple cider vinegar in your homemade face products. However, one of the common ways of using ACV for this purpose is by simply mixing ACV with two to three parts water and tone your face with it after cleansing.

Apples, Quercetin and Acne

Due to their quercetin content, apples have been proven to be an acne-fighter. Actually, Chris Gibson, the author of a book based on an apple acne diet, claimed that because of apples he became acne free in three days.

Acne is often the result of too much production of histamine in the body which results to everyday stress, inflammation, skin irritation from cleansers being used, red skin, and itchy skin. Quercetin shines by keeping the inflammation and the effects of histamine at bay.

For you to be able to reap the best of quercetin’s benefits, you need to eat organic apples.
