Once your body losses sufficient amounts of fluids, due to excessive sweating and prolonged exposure to the sun, you experience dehydration and heat stroke, an illness associated with the blazing summer heat.

Heat stroke is a life-threatening condition wherein your body temperature can rise up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and cause neurological damage as well as damages to other internal organs.

Quick Remedies To Prevent Heat Stroke



Have Plenty Of Water


Drinking a lot of water is a must especially if you are sweating a lot. It can help fight off dehydration, heat stroke, and other heart illnesses. If you feel any of the symptoms mentioned above, immediately drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.


Onion Juice For Heat Stroke


This remedy can help lower down body temperature. It provides relief from symptoms of heat stroke. All you have to do is to follow these two ways of using the remedy:

After an attack, apply onion juice behind the ears, under the feet, and on your chest. Leave it on.
After the heat stroke, symptoms are gone, drink a teaspoon of onion juice mixed with a teaspoon of honey.

Onion juice should only be applied once during the stroke. Meanwhile, onion juice- honey drink should be taken two times a day for a few days after the sunstroke.


​Raw Mangoes


This tasty and healthy fruit can be used to make a soothing and refreshing drink that can give your body its needed energy. Raw mango juice added with spices like black salt and black pepper can help balance the electrolyte levels of the body, thus curing and preventing heat stroke. For better results, you can have your raw mango juice t least twice a day.


Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)


Add 1 teaspoon of ACV and 1 tablespoon of honey in a glassful of cool water. Drink the mix to help you refill your lost electrolytes in the body.


Buttermilk


Buttermilk is loaded with vitamins and minerals that can help control your body temperature. It has probiotics that can help replenish your body temperature with essential minerals, vitamins and other nutrients lost due to excessive sweating.

Simply add 2 tablespoons yogurt in a glass of water. Add a pinch of salt and cumin powder. Mix well. Drink 1-2 glasses of buttermilk every day during summers.


Coconut Water


Same with buttermilk, coconut water can also replenish the lost electrolytes due to excessive sweating. Also, it can keep your body hydrated, lowers your body temperature, and improves the quality of your skin. Drink coconut water two to three times daily.


Tamarind Juice


Tamarind can help cool down the body temperature and supply essential nutrients and electrolytes depleted by dehydration.

Just boil few tamarind pieces in a 1 to 1 ½ glasses of water for a few minutes. Strain this liquid and honey for taste. Drink this herbal concoction once it has cooled down.


Tips & Precautions For Heat Stroke


Carry around a water bottle and drink an adequate amount of water to keep you hydrated especially during the summer months.

Use a hat, an umbrella or a headscarf when going out in the sun.

Ensure that your body is well-rested by sleeping 6-8 hours every day and eating a balanced, healthy diet. By doing this, you’ll have the right amounts of vitamins, minerals, and proteins for healthy functioning.

Wear light-colored, loose-fitting and absorbent clothes during hot and humid weather conditions.
