Different Types Of Tea Against Back Pain


For some people, back pain is just common. However, there are times wherein it can interrupt or interfere with our plans. Luckily, there are certain herbal teas that can help us treat back pain at home.
Read on to know about the herbal teas we should brew at home to fight off back pain.


Turmeric Tea


For decades turmeric has been known as one of the best remedies against inflammation and pain. Its active ingredient curcumin was found to possess anti-inflammatory properties that are wonderful against back pain. To enjoy the benefit of this powerful herb, we can make our own turmeric tea by simply boiling 3 to 4 cups of water on the stove and then add 2 teaspoons of turmeric and stir. Simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes and then strain the tea into another container. Add some honey or lemon juice to taste. Aside from this, we can also sprinkle a little of turmeric on foods we cook.


Ginger Tea


Ginger tea has potent anti-inflammatory and painkilling properties, including gingerol, shogaol, paradol, and zingerone. Aside from being an excellent remedy for nausea and upset stomach, ginger is also effective against chronic inflammation that leads to back pain. Simply brew a cup of ginger tea every time your back is aching and giving you a hard time doing various activities. Also, we can add grated ginger into our diet.


Black Cohosh Tea


Black cohosh is a strong anti-inflammatory that has a specific affinity as an aid for back pain that comes with muscle cramping. This wonderful herb can be taken as a tea and can also help deal with mood swings, insomnia, headaches, and night sweats.


Devil’s Claw Tea


For those who regularly face back pain, devil’s claw tea may provide some relief as it is able to fight off inflammation. It was actually being used by traditional healers as a regular remedy against osteoarthritis.


Chamomile Tea


Chamomile is an ancient herb that contains 36 flavonoids that have anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used to treat a variety of ailments, including muscle spasms. To help relax muscles, a regular cup of chamomile tea is recommended.


Skullcap Tea


Skullcap is a flowering plant in the mint family. It has anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral effects. Its roots and leaves are being used traditionally to treat a variety of ailments, ranging from diarrhea to chronic pain. For the purpose of relieving an achy and swollen back, drinking a cup of skullcap tea is recommended.


Cramp Bark Tea


Cramp Bark is a large shrub that is used for relieving cramps, such as menstrual cramps, back pain accompanied by cramping of the muscles in the area, muscle spasms, and cramps during pregnancy. Aside from this, it is also used as a kidney stimulant for urinary conditions that involve pain or spasms.
