A lot of people dream of thick and healthy hair. To make this possible, we need to keep our hair follicles and the skin on our scalp in the best shape. Filling our plates with a balanced diet can help us obtain the nutrient that is needed by our hair to promote hair growth.

Here are some of the best and common foods we can include in our diet to achieve a healthy growing hair.


Sweet Potatoes


Actually, our hair is the fastest-growing part of our body because it is also connected to the fastest growing tissues in our body, our skin. Vitamin A plays an important role in these tissues to work. In relation to this, sweet potatoes can provide our body with a big punch of vitamin A – more than 4 times of our daily recommended intake.


Eggs


Eggs are among the healthiest and most nutritious foods on the planet. They contain essential nutrients that contribute to hair health, such as vitamins A, D, and B12, and choline. Aside from these, eggs also contain protein which is a critical ingredient in ensuring healthy hair growth.  In fact, there are 6-7 grams of protein in one single egg to help our hair grow at a strong and healthy rate.

Furthermore, two specific carotenoids found in eggs, lutein, and zeaxanthin, also play a role in maintaining cellular health, especially of eyes, skin, and hair.


Spinach


According to research, a body deficient in iron is at higher risk of hair loss. Due to low levels of iron, nutrients and oxygen are unable to move to the hair roots and follicles, thus making our hair weak and blocking it from growing.
