Bad breath is an embarrassing health problem that can affect a person’s level of confidence. It can be caused by poor oral hygiene, dental cavities, or smoking. However, the root cause of bad breath is the bacteria that grow on the bits of food that get caught in our teeth. These growing bacteria will then release foul-smelling sulfur compounds that affect our breath.

To control bad breath, it’s important that we maintain good oral health which includes brushing teeth, tongue scraping, and flossing.


How To Quickly Get Rid Of Bad Breath?



Apple Cider Vinegar


Apple cider vinegar contains pH balancing effects, which makes it quite effective at remedying bad breath. It also has antiseptic effects that help in breaking down plaque and aids in digestion thus consumption of it may help in getting rid of bad breath that is caused by indigestion.

For this remedy, we need to stir 1 tablespoon of raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar into a glass of water. Consume the solution before eating meals. The vinegar will help in digestion and treat bad breath.

Alternatively, we can add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water and then gargle it for at least 30 seconds before spitting it out.


Lemons


Lemons contain citric acid that has antibacterial and anti-microbial properties that can kill bacteria that cause bad breath. Get rid of bad breath by trying lemons.

Simply add a tablespoon of lemon juice into a cup of water and use this mixture in rinsing the mouth. This will kill all the bacteria inside the mouth. Also, chewing on a lemon or orange rind will freshen the mouth and add a burst of flavor.


Baking Soda


Baking soda regulates acid levels in the mouth and fights off mouth odor. Add 2 teaspoons of baking soda to one cup of warm water. Swish the mouthwash around in the mouth for at least 30 seconds before spitting it out. A few drops of peppermint essential oil - which has antimicrobial properties – can also be added into the mouthwash.


Cloves


Cloves have anti-bacterial properties and can help freshen our breath.

The quickest and easiest method to obtain cloves’ benefit is by chewing a few pieces of cloves. Also, clove tea will give us a good mouthwash. In making clove tea, we need to boil a teaspoon of ground cloves to a cup of water and then allow it to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Use this mouthwash twice a day.
