Common Foods That May Help Control Uric Acid Levels


With high levels of uric acid in the bloodstream, one will surely suffer from gout, a form of arthritis that is characterized by sudden, severe attacks of pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness of the joints. To prevent this from happening, we must be able to keep our uric acid at normal levels. Below are some foods that may help:


Lime Juice


Lime juice contains citric acid, which helps in dissolving uric acid. Adding them to our diet is a great way of preventing high uric acid levels. Drink lime water at least twice a day to flush out the excess uric acid. Also, it is recommended to eat foods that are rich in vitamin C like oranges and guava.


Celery Seeds

Drinking green tea every day is a delicious and refreshing way of treating high uric acid levels. This helps in controlling hyperuricemia or high uric acid levels and also lowers the risk of developing gout.

These superfoods are known for their health benefiting properties. They are alkaline in nature and having any of them before starting a meal can help prevent the formation of high uric acid in the bloodstream.


Berries


Berries like strawberries, cherries, and blueberries are extremely rich in antioxidants that help in reducing inflammation and stiffness. Including them in our diet is beneficial to prevent high uric acid levels in the blood.
