How To Relieve Colds With Peppermint?

Colds are a common viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. It causes a sore throat, headache, sneezing, runny nose, and stuffiness. When it comes to this condition, herbal plants, like peppermint, has been used for many years to treat it.

Peppermint For Colds

Finding it difficult to focus and breathe because of nasty colds? Then, try peppermint. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve the irritation caused by chronic coughing, helps to fortify the immune system, and wards off infections. It works by clearing congestion of the nose, throat, bronchi, and lungs; and opening up the airways and allows relaxed breathing. Its menthol content also helps in breaking up phlegm and mucus, thus making it easier to expel.

Ways Of Using Peppermint Against Cold

Consume some mint tea.  Simply take a few leaves of mint and tulsi, and a small piece of ginger, and a few peppercorns, crush them and add to a cup of boiling water. Bring the mixture to a boil until the leaves turn brown. Strain and add some honey. Drink this mixture 3 times a day. Aside from this, we can also just pour hot water over mint leaves and steep for 5-6 minutes for an easy-to-make mint tea.

Have one drop of mint extract in warm water and inhale the fumes through the mouth and push out the steam through the nose. Doing this enables mint extract to pass through our throat and nose relieving both the areas.
