Herbs, Spices And Tips That May Help Get Rid/Prevent Boils

Boils are an itchy, red painful lump that is sore to the touch. The lump is then filled with pus within 24 hours and takes on a round appearance with a yellow-white tip. It usually takes from 10 to 25 days before a boil heals. Most of the time, a boil will not heal until it bursts and drains.

Boils are often caused by the bacteria S. aureus but there are also other types of bacteria that can cause a boil if they get into a hair follicle or oil gland. There are several factors that can make a person more susceptible to boils and these include previously having boils, close contact with another person who has boils, and skin conditions such as Eczema, psoriasis, or significant skin irritation that allows bacteria to access deeper skin tissues.

Some of the well-known remedies for boils are as follows:

Alugbati Leave Poultice – crush 3 alugbati leaves and apply as a poultice. Twice a day.

Sambong Leaves – simply chop 5 fresh leaves. Apply directly as a poultice on the boil, 2 times a day.

Turmeric And Ginger

These spices should be mixed to make a paste, or boiled together alongside a clean washcloth in salted water, and applied to the boil for 5 to 10 minutes daily.
